Agriculture
In 1999, total agricultural production was valued at $42.6 million. This represented an increase of 19.6% from $35.6 million in the previous year. The district currently contributes 1.0% of the states total agricultural production. Income was derived from a variety of crops, especially wheat. Lupins also provided significant income. Income from livestock and livestock products was derived from wool, pigs, sheep and lambs
