Dowerin Proposed Community & Recreation Centre

Perspective Drawing

In September 2008 the Shire of Dowerin adopted the Dowerin Recreation Strategy 2008-2015. This document was established following intensive discussions with Dowerin’s sporting clubs and through community consultation. The Dowerin Recreation Strategy 2008-2015 presents a strategic direction for the future of sport & recreation in Dowerin and recommends that a combined sporting facility is to be constructed at the site of the current Alex Read Football Pavilion, East Street Dowerin.

The Dowerin Steering Committee was developed as a result of this document. A member of each sporting body/organisation relevant to this project was invited to represent their respective club/organisation and work in conjunction with Michel Greenhalgh of MCG Architects to develop a concept plan for this proposed facility a preliminary perspective of which is illustrated above. For further information regarding the proposed Dowerin Community & Recreation Facility please contact Louise Heasman on 08 9631 1202.
