PUBLIC NOTICE - PROPOSED LOCAL LAWS

SHIRE OF DOWERIN DOGS LOCAL LAW 2O18;

AND

SHIRE OF DOWERIN WASTE LOCAL LAW 2O18

At the Ordinary Meeting of Council on 27 March 2018 Council resolved to give public notice of its intention to make two local laws as follows:

DOGS LOCAL LAW 2018: (Click here for a copy)

PURPOSE: TO PROVIDE FOR THE REGULATION OF DOG OWNERSHIP IN THE SHIRE OF DOWERIN;

EFFECT: TO PRESCRIBE OBLIGATIONS THAT APPLY TO OWNERS OF DOGS IN ORDER TO ENSURE RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERSHIP THAT INCLUDES ADEQUATE CARE OF ANIMALS AND TO REDUCE RISK AND NUISANCE TO OTHER RESIDENTS;

PURPOSE: TO PROVIDE FOR THE REGULATION ON THE EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT OF WASTE IN THE SHIRE OF DOWERIN;

EFFECT: TO PRESCRIBE OBLIGATIONS THAT APPLY TO OWNERS AND / OR OCCUPIERS OF PROPERTY TO ENSURE THE EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT OF WASTE AND RECYCLABLE MATERIALS AND ASSOCIATED RECEPTACLES VIA VERGE COLLECTIONS AND REFUSE SITES.

The proposed local laws are available on the Shire website (see above) or can be requested by contacting the Shire office on 9631 1202 during the hours of 8.30am and 4pm Monday to Friday or by emailing dowshire@dowerin.wa.gov.au
