Results of Extraordinary Election - Rural South Ward

The poll for the election of a new Councillor for the Shire of Dowerin Rural South Ward closed at 6pm on Friday 7 April 2017.  The WA Electoral Commission (WAEC) conducted the election on behalf of the Shire and the WAEC Returning Officer was in Dowerin for the close of the poll. 

Three candidates ran for office which shows a strong interest in our community.  This strong interest was further evidenced by the large number votes with 50% of eligible voters casting a vote. 

Lindsay Hagboom received the highest number of votes and the Returning Officer officially announced that Mr Hagboom was duly elected to the role of Councillor. 

The Shire of  Dowerin welcomes Councillor Elect Hagboom and wishes him a well in his role. 

The Shire extends our thanks the other candidates for their interest and commitment to this community and acknowledges residents for participating in this important democratic process.
