Dowerin Football Club
Founded in 1903 the Dowerin Football Club has been a permanent fixture in the life of Dowerin’s sporting fanatics throughout the years. With an extensive history of grand final berths, today the Dowerin Tigers are a force to be reckoned with in the Mortlock A Grade and A Reserve Leagues.
The Mortlock League comprises of eight teams (Dowerin, Goomalling, Wyalkatchem, Toodyay, Calingiri, Wongan Ballidu, Dalwallinu and Gingin) who battle it out for the premiership flag each Sunday between April and September. Grand finals are played at the central locations of Wongan and Goomalling on alternate years and all games are played with fantastic spirit, passion and integrity.
From Nippers to Auskick to league reserves the Dowerin Football club has a commitment to developing some fantastic sportsmen within our community, a number of which have gone on to be highly successful professional AFL Footballers (Tommy Lee – Adelaide Crows and Lance ‘Buddy’
Franklin – Hawthorn).
Training takes place on a Wednesday and Friday evening at the Dowerin Football Oval, starting at 6pm.
