Wheatbelt Heritage Rail

Wheatbelt Heritage RailThe Vision

Soon adults and children alike will experience history at the Wheatbelt Heritage Rail Discovery Centre, currently being developed in the heritage rich town site, Minnivale WA. Located in the heart of the Wheatbelt, the centre will celebrate the past using today's technology featuring a sound and light show, operating steam locomotive experience and interactive displays.

Transporting passengers to a time gone by, heritage steam and diesel locomotives will conduct excursions from Goomalling via Dowerin to Wyalkatchem. Complete with saloon buffet and sleeping cars, the heritage trains will operate to service community and tourist events in the region.

This project is operated by the Shire of Dowerin in partnership with Rail Heritage Western Australia and supported by the Shires of Goomalling and Wyalkatchem. Funded by Royalties for Regions and sponsored by Brookfield Rail, Aurizon and Goldcon Constructions.
