Strategic Community Plan

According to the Department of Local Government WA a Strategic Community Plan Outlines community vision, values, aspirations and priorities for the long term (10 years). It is a visionary document based on community input and our research to ensure Dowerin’s future is sustainable.

The purpose of Dowerin’s Community Strategic Plan is to:

• Outline the visions and aspirations the community has for the Dowerin Shire
• Describe the strategies to achieve these visions and aspirations
• Provide an opportunity for community participation in decision making
• Provide a long term focus for the decision making and resource allocation

This document belongs to the community and is designed to give everyone the opportunity to have input in designing and achieving the goals set out in the Plan. It will also be the primary driver for all other planning undertaken by the Shire.

After extensive community engagement in 2017 the Shire is pleased to present the Strategic Community Plan 2018-2028 after Council adoption at the Ordinary Meeting of Council on 27 March 2018.
