Extraordinary Election – 25 June 2026

The Shire of Dowerin advises that at the Special Council Meeting held on 1 April 2026 (CMRef1290), Council resolved to appoint the Western Australian Electoral Commission to conduct the 2026 Extraordinary Election.

The election will be conducted by way of a postal voting system, with election day set for Thursday, 25 June 2026.

Voting packs will be issued to all eligible electors in the lead up to the election. Completed ballots must be returned prior to the close of poll on election day.

The WA Electoral Commission will manage the election process, including nominations, the issuing and return of voting packages, and the count.
