Extraordinary Election Update – No Nominations Received

The Shire of Dowerin has been advised by the Returning Officer that no nominations were received for the vacant Councillor position by the close of nominations at 4.00pm on Tuesday, 11 August 2026.

As no candidates nominated, the extraordinary election scheduled to be conducted by postal vote on Thursday, 24 September 2026 will not proceed. The vacancy on Council therefore remains unfilled.

The Shire will provide further information to the community regarding the vacancy and any next steps once these have been confirmed.
