The Shire of Dowerin held its official swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday, 21 October 2025, following the recent Local Government Election. The ceremony, conducted in Council Chambers, marked the formal commencement of the new Council term.

We are pleased to welcome Cr Ash Jones, Cr Chris Meakins, and Cr Jen Graffin to the Dowerin Shire Council. Each brings valuable skills, community insight, and enthusiasm for contributing to the Shire’s continued growth and progress.

At the Special Council Meeting held following the ceremony, Councillors elected Cr Darrel Hudson to the position of Shire President and Cr Robert Trepp to the position of Deputy Shire President. Both bring extensive local government experience and a strong commitment to the Dowerin community, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of leadership.

The Shire extends its appreciation to all outgoing Councillors for their service and dedication to the district. Their contributions have helped guide many important community and infrastructure initiatives over recent years.

Council now looks forward to working collaboratively to deliver on its strategic priorities, strengthen community engagement, and continue fostering a thriving and resilient Shire.
